Day 26..

To some people its just dinner. To me it is a little bit more.

Cooking has always been something that I love, and enjoyed doing - especially for my husband. Its something that I'm good at, and its rewarding to know that he enjoys it all so much.

The past two weeks have wore me out. I have no desire to work, or to cook, or to even eat. Since I havent been able to focus, or sleep - I made my momma a promise that I would atleast eat, so I've been making sure that I keep that promise but I can't lie, if she hadn't made me then I likely wouldn't.

I made spaghetti sauce the other day - and aside from a sandwich, thats the first meal I've cook in these past two weeks. It was effortless, though. I did it because it was easy, I threw it all in the slow cooker and that was that. It was nice to finally put some thought into a meal, even though it isn't something special.

Day 25 - Happy Birthday to ME!

Today is my birthday, and I got a phone call from the hospital letting me know that they took him off his blood pressure medication, and also removed the breathing tube. He is stable, and maintaining so far.
Best birthday present ever :)

Day 23-24..

Day 20-22.

I saw these placemats at Bowring & just *HAD* to have them. I got 4, like, for a dining room table.. one that I don't even have :)

Nothing like being prepared for my future dining room table! lol.

Days 15-19..

Even though I have been MIA for going on two weeks, I managed to snap a picture every day!




At times I found that I was trying to distract myself and this was always in the back of my mind.




Now that I bought a laptop I will be able to update even when I am away :)

Update on me;

Most of you know that I've been MIA for going on two weeks now, for the most part so I apologize that I have been behind..

Last Sunday I got a call from a doctor in KGH - a hospital 2 hours away from me - letting me know that my father was admitted and they need to amputate his left leg. At that time the doctor mentioned that he was suffering (aside from his leg, cause by diabetes and bad circulation/artery problems) from heart, kidney and liver failure. Not to mention the blood pressure and circulation problems he was already dealing with for as long as I can remember.

I've been back and forth since then and distracting myself with work in between. Sunday night they couldn't guarantee me even a 10% chance of him making it through the surgery but alas, here we are.

As of today he is no longer requiring blood pressure medication, is going through dialysis and is still dependant on medication to make his heart work as well as a breathing tube to assist him. He is stable, and responsive but I need to remain prepared for the worst case scenario.

With that being said, most of you have been with me every step of the way, and I couldn't thank you enough. You are truly amazing women, and I love you all so much xoxox.

So, I admit, I fell behind. (sadface) so my promise of more creative pictures has been put on hold until the beginning of the week.




I *had* to post this because its just so damn cute. I got this for my girlfriend who just had her baby girl about 3 weeks ago. Of course, her name is Chanel.

Day 8 - August 8th, 2010

I made my husband a treat :) Fudge brownie cupcakes with peanut butter icing - omnomnom.

He's so lucky to have someone as awesome as me.

Day 7 - August 7th, 2010

I haven't been following the themes thus far, but I figured with todays theme it was only appropriate.

This is Chris' familys' kitty, Gabby. She passed away yesterday.

Day 6 - August 6th 2010

Bought luggage today :)

We're planning a trip to Florida for April 2011, and this was on sale..

Day 4 / Day 5 - August 4th & 5th.

Day 4 came from my phone again, and shows how badass I am for taking a picture while I'm driving while its raining like its never rained before... but I just had to get a picture of that rainbow..

If you look really closely you can see it. It was so beautiful. It made the tsunami like rain/wind mixture & afterworks of lakes in my backyard worth it.







Day 5 was last minute, I must admit. I worked 30.5 hours straight from 1pm Tuesday until 6:30pm Wednesday with a short hour-long break to run home & get changed, needless to say I haven't had the chance to get creative just yet.

My hair is my safety blanket and I spend a lot of time (and money) making sure its taken care of.

Day 3 - August 3rd 2010

Excuse the low quality of Day 3's picture..

I had to take it from my phone since I am at work until... sometime past midnight.. & I forgot to do this before I left this afternoon.

A picture of my desk. Where I spend 10-12+ hours of my day, almost every day.

I'm a workaholic, and its not really surprising to most people. Work is my life (besides my family, of course) and I am very proud of how good I am at my job.

Its not a career, or what I see myself doing for the rest of my life, by any means. It is a job, and just a job - but its my job, and I love it (now).

Day 2 - August 2nd, 2010

Today I chose to take a picture of my BlackBerry, aka my life line.

Chris always makes fun of me because it never leaves my hand, literally - I always have it in my hand, its pathetic really.

But the more I think about it, the more I realize that this is the only connection I have to the people I love. If at any second I am needed for any reason I am accessible because I have it. If I didn't have this phone, then I would rarely - if ever - talk to my best friend, my sister, or my husband throughout the day. I'm never home, so it doesn't benefit people to try and reach me there, and I am hardly ever on an actual computer anymore (except at work, where my online activities are ridiculously limited with my new position) so I can honestly say that this obsession has a purpose..

Day 1 - August 1st, 2010

My first picture is of my apartment (well, the living room since we're limited to one picture..) ..

When we moved to Ottawa I hated it. I told myself I would never live here, not because there is anything wrong with it but because its too big. I'm a small city kind of girl, I come from a place where everyone knows everyone and living here has been a big big BIG change that has taken a ton of getting used to.

Today I went out for groceries while Chris is away golfing, and as I walked in I smiled.. While our apartment is a tiny 1 bedroom, its ours. Its so cozy, and full of so many things we have worked so hard for, it really hit me today that this is home. Maybe not for much longer, but it was a nice realization after a year of living here to walk in and be happy to be here. We don't live in a horrible area, but we pay way too much for what we have. I'll be happy to leave, and even though this is not our first place together this is where we started our life as husband and wife.. pretty rad!! :)
